Trongsa in Pictures

Spontaneous plans for a weekend in Trongsa came together on Friday afternoon - and it couldn't have turned out more perfectly. Friends, food, sun, amazing views - we always enjoy a little get-away over the Yotung-la. I wasn't going to write a blog except that I took so many photos that I wanted to share - so here is Trongsa in pictures...

Unfortunately the museum was closed, but walking around the building is still spectacular.

I love the beautiful curves of this building made up of circular rooms.

Home-sweet home again to begin the month of October. With only about five teaching weeks remaining, our days are precious and numbered in Bhutan. Soon these photos will be our memories of the favourite places we love. You can never have too many photos!!!

  1. Wow! What beautiful photos. I have always wanted to go to Bhutan and now I can live vicariously through you!
One of the things I have often wondered is that I've heard that Bhutan has a happiness index, which is wonderful and leaves me curious of how they measure happiness?

    1. Thank you Cybele. Bhutan is an amazing place, so beautiful and I can't help taking photos wherever I go. Bhutan is famous for it's policy of Gross National Happiness rather than Gross Domestic Product - based on the four pillars of happiness - good governance, sustainable development, preservation of cultural values and conservation of the environment. It is fascinating and I have an upcoming blog post about it!
